Private Swimming Lessons
Private swimming lessons in private pools in the Newquay area.
I teach one-to-one lessons and 2 to 1 lesson in quiet pools but in public swim sessions.
I specialize in teaching private lessons as I have found in my years of experience as a swimming teacher, children and adults progress 4 x quicker in smaller classes and become more water confident faster.
I find it really rewarding and challenging to teach children and adults with additional needs to swim, whether it’s a learning difficulty or just being scared of the water. I have taught many adults to swim, my oldest was 82 years old just showing it’s never too late to learn, I can help you overcome your fear of the water, with patience and empathy
I can teach at any pool as I have IOS insurance, but just need the owners’ consent.

I can help you build your confidence and show you how to get the most of your open water swim.

1-2-1 @ £16 for 30min lesson plus pool admission
2 in a class @ £19 for 30min lesson plus pool admission

2 in a class is £25 for 30min
3 in a lesson is £30 for 30min
Badge awards
I use STA badge scheme,
Star fish awards for parent and child classes 0-3years
Stanley awards for pre-school children 3-4 years
Octopus, Goldfish, Anglefish and Shark badges for school years, these badges are great as they incorporate life saving skills and safety knowledge
I also assess distance awards and can achieve 5metres- 400metres

I can also teach in the sea, depending on high tide and wave conditions. I mainly teach from Porth beach Newquay, the harbour and the Gannel.
I can be in the water with you, and i have teaching aids to help build your sea confidence. Im a qualified beach lifeguard and SLSC instructor.

Pre - school lessons
Adult and child lessons:
Are from 6 Weeks to 3 Years, with adult and child lessons your in the water with your child, learn nursury rhymmes to assist with water confidence and adults learn how to hold your child in water and enhance water skills.
Please beware that you may need to be in the water to assist if you have MORE than 1 child in the lesson.
pre-school 3 years plus:
Im in the water and parents to watch from viewing area. I make it fun and age approcraite skill learning to help young achieve skills for life.

Kerry is an inspirational teacher who has helped me achieve a milestone that I never thought possible.
A frightening experience in the school pool at the age of seven left me with a severe fear of water. Fast forward 49 years and I’m now able to swim lengths on my front and back, float, tread water and best of all feel invigorated after each lesson that I have.
Kerry’s patience and skill are second to none. She comes highly recommended.
Kerry is a fantastic swim teacher. We did an intensive course in October with only my eldest daughter being able to swim and my 9 year old son so nervous of water he wouldn’t put his face in but Kerry straight away put them at ease and gained their trust. Four months on after having weekly lessons, all 4 of my children can now swim and my son is so confident and happy that he’ll go in the deep end and swims with his face in the water! The progress they have made is amazing. The kids love Kerry and love coming for their lesson, they don’t want to miss one!

Do you teach Adults
Yes 121 is perfect to teach swimming to adults with a fear of water or adults that just want to improve their stroke.
Can I share a class
Yes to keep cost down there maybe an option to share with someone else at a similar ability.
Do you teach special needs children?
Yes I have gained experience teaching children on autism spectrum and with Cerebral Palsy.
how long will it take for my child to swim?
This is a hard question, it depends if they are water confident already but if they are, normally 10 lessons to achieve a distance badge. 1 to 1 lessons are 4 x faster progression then group lesson so in long run you are paying less, and spending less time traveling backwards and forwards to lessons.
Can you teach at any pool?
Yes, I have IOS insurance and I’m self employed, but I will require the owners permission.
